今天是6月1日，國際兒童節(又稱兒童節，International Children's Day)兒童節是為了悼念(Mourn)1942年6月10日的利迪策慘案和全世界所有在戰爭中死難的兒童(All of the dead children in war all over the world)，反對虐殺和毒害兒童(Murder and poisoning of children)，以及保障兒童權利(Protect children's rights)。
世界上許多國家都將6月1日定為兒童的節日(Will be June 1st as the children's Festival)，尤其是在社會主義國家(Especially in the socialist countries)。在歐美國家，兒童節的日期各不相同(The date of the children's Day is different)，而且往往很少舉行社會公眾性的慶祝活動(The celebration of the social public)。因此有人誤解(Misunderstanding)為只有社會主義國家才將6月1日定為國際兒童節。
1949年11月，國際民主婦女聯合會在莫斯科舉行理事會議為了保障世界各國兒童的生存權、保健權和受教育權(To protect the children's right to exist, health care and education in the world.)，為了改善兒童的生活(To improve the lives of children)，會議決定以每年的6月1日為國際兒童節(International Children's Day)。我國兒童節，早期為每年的4月4日，是1931年根據中華慈幼協會的建議設立的(According to the China Association for the association of the young and the proposed)。1949年12月，中央人民政府政務院發出通令，廢除舊的兒童節(Repeal the old children's Day)，將6月1日作為我國的兒童節，與國際兒童節統一起來(United with the international children's Day)。
